How we work

What is the application process?

Please fill in the short application form on our website. We do not accept postal or telephone applications. Once you have clicked submit, your form will be sent to our Auditions team who will process your application. You will then be sent an email with audition details (during the next audition period). If you are given a date and time that you cannot attend, please email us at

Do I need to audition to be accepted into IDSA?

Yes. All applicants need to apply and audition for a place at IDSA.

Do I need to audition if I have previous experience?

Yes. All applicants need to apply and audition for a place at IDSA, irrespective of prior experience.

Can I audition if I am already represented by another talent agency?

Yes. Identity School of Acting and Identity Agency Group are two separate entities. Therefore, your training will not be affected in any way if you are represented by a talent agency.

I attended IDSA previously and I would like to come back, do I need to audition again?

Yes. Acting ability can alter and we will, therefore, need to be reassessed to ensure you are assigned to the correct group.

How much is the audition fee?

Audition Fees are £50 for our UK branch, and $40 for our LA branch. Our audition fee contributes to the administration costs involved in organising workshops and processing applications and is therefore non-refundable.

What is the audition process?

The audition is a group intensive workshop divided into two major sections: improvisation and text. You are graded on both areas. We assess your ability to improvise within the instructions that have been given to you, your connection to the text and your interaction with the other actor(s). These marks and general thoughts on your approach within the workshop will determine whether you have been successful, and which group you will be placed into based on this assessment.

What should I wear to the audition?

You do not need to bring anything to the audition. Please wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes and avoid wearing jeans, hard-soled shoes or tight clothing, as you will be moving a lot during the workshop. We ask all actors to remove jewellery and accessories before entering the auditions, so please ensure you leave any valuables at home. If you have long hair, you must tie it back, away from your face.

I’ve applied for my audition, how soon will I receive an audition date?

Once you have applied for your audition you will be contacted via email within 7 working days.

Do I need to prepare a monologue or learn a script for the audition?

Yes, you will be sent a script to learn and prepare for the audition. This will be sent once you have applied, alongside your audition information.

I’ve completed my audition, when will I find out if I’ve been accepted?

Audition results are emailed to the applicant within one or two weeks of the audition. Your email will state whether or not you have been successful. If you have, the email will contain information regarding course dates and fees, as well as your enrolment pack, which contains your contract. Click here for more information about the course.

Does gaining acceptance into IDSA guarantee me representation by Identity Agency Group (IAG)?

Upon applying for, accepting and attending Identity School of Acting students are doing so for the sole purpose of training at the school. Identity Agency Group is a separate entity and does not form part of the school. As a student of Identity School of Acting, you are not represented by or guaranteed representation by Identity Agency Group or any affiliated agencies or management.

Where can I find course dates?

I’ve been accepted into IDSA, but I can no longer attend - can I defer until the next term?

I have completed my audition but haven’t been sent through an audition result.

We receive a high volume of applications each term, so although we endeavour to contact you within 7 working days, there may be some instances where we do not meet this deadline. If you have any concerns about your audition results, after 7 working days please contact us at
