Applicants do not need to have trained professionally or had any experience to apply for Identity Acting Studio. All applicants are judged solely on their performance during the audition process.

In order to attend Identity Acting Studio you must:

  • Be fluent in the English language
  • Be 16+ when commencing at IDSA


Audition Process

Follow these three simple steps to apply:

Step 1:

Fill out the application form online and pay your application fee.

Step 2: 

A member of the team will get back to you with the date and time of your audition and a short duologue scene for you to prepare.

Step 3: 

Attend your audition, please aim to be 10 minutes early. 

Step 4: 

That’s all from you! We will be in touch within 7 – 10 working days with your audition results.


Audition Content

The audition will be split into two parts:


You will create improvised scenes and conversations under the guidance of the assessors. What we’re looking for here is your spontaneity, your ability to respond to cues and impulses, and your commitment to your imagined circumstances.


You will be split into pairs to work on the prepared duologue, which you will perform twice for the assessors. Following your first performance, you will be given notes which you should ensure you factor into your second performance. What we’re looking for here is your connection to the character’s circumstances, your ability to relate these to your own experiences and imagination, and your connection to the other actor.



You will be assessed on the following areas:


How connected are you to what the character is experiencing, how affected they are by what they have gone through, and what they’re trying to do?


How have you used the monologue as a stimulus for creativity? Have you internalised the text and made the words your own? Are you showing us your own unique quality as a performer?


Does it feel like you’re really talking to someone? Do you have a relationship with the person you’re talking to? What sort of relationship is it?

Vocal clarity

Can we hear you and understand you? Is your voice expressive, and does it show the emotion you’re feeling?

Audition Results

At Identity Acting Studio, we endeavour to notify all auditionees of their results status within 7 – 10 working days. Should you have any queries with regard to your application, please email [email protected], and a member of our applications team will get back to you shortly.

If you apply to IDSA and are not accepted, you can apply again after six months. We recommend you take some one-to-one coaching before reapplying or take advantage of the short-courses we have on offer that are open to non-IDSA students.


Student Status Disclaimer

Upon applying for, accepting and attending Identity Acting Studio students are doing so for the sole purpose of training at the school. Students must understand that Identity Agency Group is a separate entity and does not form part of the school. As a student of Identity Acting Studio, you are not represented by or guaranteed representation by Identity Agency Group or any affiliated agencies or management.


Application Fee

Please note: Application fees for IDSA Los Angeles are $20 and are non-refundable. Your application will be processed once we have received payment. You do not need to have a Paypal account in order to use the Paypal portal.

  1. Fill out an application form by clicking the button below.
  2. On completion of the application form click the ‘Paypal’ option next to the ‘Payment Method’ Tab.
  3. Then click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the application form. You will be taken to a Paypal portal that allows you to pay via Paypal or ‘Checkout as a Guest’.
  4. If you do not have a Paypal account, please click ‘Pay with Debit or Credit Card’ and you will be directed to pay with your credit or debit card.
