Identity School of Acting provides on-going and intensive acting training for students from all backgrounds. We help actors hone and develop their individual skills and creativity, and prepare them for a career in acting thanks to a varied curriculum. Students work with specialist acting coaches to learn a wide range of styles and techniques for acting on stage and screen. Students participate in an annual showcase or film-case.
Identity School of Acting offers both a two and three day curriculum for students. The two day curriculum is where students participate in six hours of training a week. The three day curriculum is where students participate in nine hours of training.
Please note: All adult applicants have to complete the two term Fresher Course. A detailed outline of the fresher course, two and three day curriculum can be found below.
If you are an adult actor (22+), you will be placed in the Fresher Course for your first two terms.
The Fresher Course is a two term module covering various disciplines of both stage and screen acting. Both terms will be dedicated to style and techniques, with the second term leading to an in-house presentation.
You will remain in the same group for the two Fresher terms. On completion of the course, the students who graduate will be placed into the appropriate tier and given the choice to join either the two or three day curriculum. Please click here information on the different tier groups.
Two Day Curriculum
The two day curriculum gives students the opportunity to focus on up to four modules a term to enhance their styles and techniques. In the Autumn and Spring term, students will focus solely on styles and techniques in preparation for their Showcase/Filmcase in the Summer term.
The Summer term will then consist of working closely with a director on either a Showcase or Filmcase. Students will either remain or move groups based on how they are graded in the Summer term.
Three Day Curriculum
The three day curriculum is open to all students and will give students the opportunity to learn even more intensively, at an accelerated pace and is an ideal option for those who wish to expand their training. The three day curriculum gives students the opportunity to focus on up to five modules a term. The student will continue to study a wide range of styles and techniques over two sessions, the third session will be dedicated to performance modules.
The styles and techniques sessions will be used to enhance the student's performance skills, and the additional session will be dedicated solely to performance based classes and rehearsals. Unlike the two day curriculum, the three day curriculum gives the student the opportunity for two performances rather than one every year.
