IDSA was founded 17 years ago, in response to the lack of diversity across Television, Film and Theatre. We decided to fill that void by setting up a school that would foster community, encourage diversity, and nurture a collective of global, ground-breaking actors; a school that reflects the world we live in.
Seventeen years later, with the support of an accomplished faculty and a clear mission, we stand as a leading UK & LA drama school, welcoming a diverse group of talented students each term.
Our contribution to the performing arts has been recognised by Her Majesty The Queen, and both current students and IDSA alumni have gone on to claim notable awards and lead roles in major Hollywood productions.
If you are accepted into IDSA, you will benefit from the incredible training offered by our seasoned teachers, all of whom are established figures within their respective specialisms. You will be surrounded by a diverse mix of talented peers who share the same passion for the performing arts, and the same eagerness to hone their craft and broaden their understanding of what it truly means to be an actor.
You will benefit from performance opportunities in front of leading talent agents, and enjoy invaluable access to the industry through our Q&As, workshops and masterclasses. IDSA is not just a school that nurtures talent, it is a community of creatives who share a passion for the performing arts.
This course serves applicants based in London and the surrounding areas. The IDSA In-Person Course gives students the opportunity to work in a physical space, developing their skills across stage and screen performance. Students can expect to work on a variety of different modules each term, such as Skills & Techniques, Voice, Classics, Movement, Screen & Text and more. This platform will provide a unique opportunity for students who are interested in working on stage and screen to build and develop their abilities to an extraordinarily high standard.
